“YOU’RE REMARKABLE” WALK-OVERVIEW
Ever wonder what our local whales are up to? Then grab your family, your friends and your dog, if you have one, and come on down to the Third Annual “You’re Remarkable” Walk for the Benefit of PARCA! This is your chance to discover the fascinating world of whales on the coastside, while taking a beautiful oceanside stroll along gentle, paved trails and supporting a great cause.
Local marine-life experts will be on hand to lead the groups and answer questions! And while we can’t guarantee whale sightings, the season for humpback migration is from June to November, so it’s definitely possible, and they’ve been spotted at our past events.
We offer both dog-friendly and dog-free walk options.
The length of the out-and-back walking course is 1.9 miles from the Pacifica Community Center. You can walk the whole trail, or if you, your kids or your pup get pooped, you can turn back at the 0.5 mile viewing point, the 0.7 mile viewing point or continue all the way to Rockaway Beach which is a distance of 0.9 miles.
Proceeds from the event directly benefit PARCA aka “Partners and Advocates for Remarkable Children and Adults” to support programs which help people with developmental disabilities lead satisfying, comfortable, safe, dignified, healthy and happy lives.c
